Johns Hopkins Takes Time for Schools

Johns Hopkins Takes Time for Schools offers full-time benefits-eligible university staff up to 16 hours per year of paid leave to pursue service opportunities in the Baltimore City Public Schools. The program was launched in March 2009. Sharing the time, talent and dedication of Johns Hopkins employees with Baltimore’s students, teachers, principals and administrators, participants can work directly with students, offer management and leadership support to administrators, provide facilities and infrastructure improvements and assist with operations (such as food services, health and wellness, information technology, public and media relations, and capital development).
