Village Learning Place (VLP)

Johns Hopkins University helped to establish the Village Learning Place (VLP), a community-based nonprofit library and learning center in Charles Village, and since has provided various forms of support including membership on its board of directors, technical and financial assistance, and volunteers. The VLP’s mission is to promote literacy, cultural awareness, and lifelong learning through free access for all ages to informa­tion, resources, and educational programs. Services include K-8 afterschool pro­gramming, volunteer opportunities, books, periodicals, a community technology center, and a learning center.
