Operation PULSE (People United to Live in a Safe Environment)

Operation P.U.L.S.E. (People United to Live in a Safe Environment) was developed by C.U.R.E. (Clergy United for Renewal in East Baltimore) through a partnership with John Hopkins Medical Institutions in 1992. This crime prevention ministry has trained over one thousand volunteers from C.U.R.E. churches, community residents, and other individuals that elect to earn community service hours to watch, patrol and evangelize via a non-traditional citizen on patrol program. Operation P.U.L.S.E. members volunteer to patrol in East Baltimore neighborhoods. Operation P.U.L.S.E. conducts a variety of crime prevention programs for churches, senior groups, schools, outdoor community displays, and businesses. Recently, Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Community Affairs assisted Operation P.U.L.S.E. with its National Night Out initiative.
